Acids, bases and salts

Description

This lesson teaches the students to identify an acid, a base, and a salt, and the nomenclature of the most common elements. The lesson has a Learn Mode and a Score Mode. Student will learn about: how to identify an acid, how to identify a base, how to identify a salt, the nomenclature of common salts, acids and bases.

Prerequsites

Can describe the difference between a molecule and a substance. Describes a substance as being made out of different particles which can be ions.

Learning objectives

  • Identify acids by the presence of an H+ ion, and identify bases by the presence of an OH- ion
  • Describe what a salt is made of; group the formulae of different substances (acids, bases, slats) into classes accordingly
  • Is systematic in their approach to solving problems.
