Biomolecular Structures and Functions
Description
Chemical Composition of Cells Lab
This immersive laboratory experience introduces students to the molecular building blocks of life by exploring the chemical composition of cells. Through hands-on investigations, learners identify proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids using classic biochemical tests.
• Use the Biuret Test to detect proteins in solutions
• Apply Iodine and Benedict’s tests to identify starches and sugars
• Investigate lipid properties using the Paper Test
