Moles and molarity #2
Description
This lesson will challenge the student’s knowledge of moles, mass, molar mass, density, buoyancy and volume to escape the room. To cross the pit, the student needs to perform more advanced calculations, where special calculation machines, calcubots, will be of help.
Student will learn about: molar mass, density, buoyancy, volumetric calculations, molar calculations.
Prerequsites
Can use the periodic table to find information. Is able to calculate the density and molar mass of a chemical substance. Can convert units (Mmol, kmol, mol, g/mol, kg/kmol, m3, dm3, t, kg, g) and understands the connections between them. Can describe the meaning of the amount of substance.
Learning objectives
- Describe the different physical and chemical properties of various substances
- Calculate the amount of substance based on molar mass; find systematic and meaningful solutions to problems
