Resuscitation VR for Paediatrics – Post-Traumatic Haemorrhagic Shock (Advanced)
Description
A ten-year-old male child was going fast down a road on his pushbike and went over and onto the handlebars. The child presents in pain, is crying inconsolably and holding his abdomen. The mother has brought him into the emergency department shortly after the incident occurred.
Learning objectives
- The user is expected to minimise blood loss, stabilise the patient, give warmed fluids with TXA and select appropriate imaging. The objective will be to practice the recognition and management of blunt trauma in children.
