Resuscitation VR for Paediatrics – Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) (Advanced)
Description
A 9-month-old male child will be having an arrythmia (abnormal heart rhythm) known as SVT (Supraventricular Tachycardia) which requires the user to go through the ABCs of acute care, establish IV access, diagnose the arrythmia and give appropriate medications. In this advanced version, the user will also need to recognise a change to hemodynamic instability and perform synchronized cardioversion.
Learning objectives
- The objective will be to practice the recognition and management of SVT in infants. The user must learn how to think and act under pressure while making time-sensitive decisions. The user should learn how to escalate a case of SVT, between vagus nerve stimulation, medications and use of a defibrillator.
