Malignancy VR

Description

Designed by cancer researchers, Dr Ken Dutton-Regester (Excite Science) and Dr Elke Hacker (QUT), in partnership with Real Serious Games, we wanted to use virtual reality to teach people about cancer in a memorable and immersive way. When a metastatic skin cancer suddenly appears in the lung, it’s up to you to use chemo, targeted and immuno-therapies to kill cancer. Will you be able to control cancer?

Learning objectives

  • Engage the learner to further explore the causes and preventions of skin cancer and actively improve their lifestyle to avoid the environmental conditions that cause skin cancer
  • Increase awareness of the consequences of skin cancer
  • Provide a basic understanding of the effect, at cellular level, of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immuno therapy treatments on both cancer cells and immune cells
